I’m continuing the subject of God’s protection.

As I was studying, I was amazed in how many layers there are to His covering. One of the most misunderstood books is Job and how the devil got to him. I’m not here to debate with anyone, you do your own study, but this is what I learned.

In Job 1:7 the devil wanted to destroy him but he couldn’t completely do it because of God’s hedge of protection. Verse 8 God asks, have you set your sight on my servant Job? God knew the devil was watching him to destroy him.

1 Peter 5:8 – Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour.  You have to understand the devil has to legally build a case against you like a prosecuting attorney in order to get a judgment against you to get access to you. How can he do this?

One way is through unbelief, murmuring (which is complaining). I’ll tell on myself, I have done my share of that throughout my life, not even knowing the consequences it could bring. Thank goodness for God’s mercy and grace.

1 Corinthians 10:10 – neither murmur ye, as some of them also murmured, and were destroyed of the destroyer (the devil).

Several places it speaks of the hedge:  Psalms 80:12Psalms 89:40Isaiah 5:5

Fear coupled with complaining gets you destroyed.  Job said in 3:25 – For the thing which I greatly feared is come upon me, and that which I was afraid of has come unto me.

So don’t fall into the enemy’s trap! I’m having to continually watch the words which come out of my mouth especially during a time of uncertainty such as now. So examine your words before you speak and align yourselves with only God’s word not the circumstances around you and watch how God’s word will carry you through and His hedge of protection will protect you.
