Sunday November 11th marks a day when military men and women who honorably served or are serving the United States of America receive gratitude for their service from the American people. Veterans Day exists for the American people to say “thank you” to active, reserve and honorably discharged military men and women. Veterans Day should be recognized by all Americans. These men and women support and defend our First Amendment right to freely exercise our faith. Therefore, all Christians can use this opportunity to honor the men and women who served or are serving in the armed forces.

There are many ways that we can honor veterans this Veterans Day, including showing our support by proudly displaying our flag, thanking a veteran for his or her service, supporting vet’s families while their loved one is serving, or volunteering in another manner to support veterans causes. However you feel is appropriate, we as Christians should support our men and women who serve.

Below are a few Bible verses that we feel are appropriate for Veterans Day. Take a moment to consider each one and how it speaks to our veterans and how we should honor them.

“Have not I commanded thee? Be strong and of a good courage; be not afraid, neither be thou dismayed: for the LORD thy God is with thee whithersoever thou goest.” ~ Joshua 1:9

“And he said, The LORD is my rock, and my fortress, and my deliverer; The God of my rock; in him will I trust: he is my shield, and the horn of my salvation, my high tower, and my refuge, my saviour; thou savest me from violence. I will call on the LORD, who is worthy to be praised: so shall I be saved from mine enemies.” ~ 2 Samuel 22:2-4

“Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.” ~ Ephesians 6:11

Our soul waiteth for the LORD: he is our help and our shield. For our heart shall rejoice in him, because we have trusted in his holy name. Let thy mercy, O LORD, be upon us, according as we hope in thee.” ~ Psalms 33:20-22

All these verses speak to bravery, standing up to evil, and having courage. This is exactly what our brave veterans have done for our country.

Have a wonderful and blessed Veterans Day and if you have served in our military, all of us from Christian Biz Connect humbly thank you for your service.
