I had a client once say to me “It’s the most wonderful time of year”.  Interesting I thought to myself, as this person did not believe in Christmas or Jesus, let alone in his own religion, Judaism.  I wondered about what he had said, why is it the most wonderful time of year?  Is he really in the spirit? Most see how the world of business has marketed the season to ridiculous measures.  Each year Christmas merchandise is displayed earlier and earlier to bring in the revenue.

Let us take a deeper look at this “in the spirit”.  They say the “spirit of Christmas”.  Some may think the spirit is a feeling and part of it may be true, but that’s not all to it, just emotions.  Spirit is who we are, we are a spirit being living in a human body while we are here on earth.  The spirit as everyone calls it, I believe what we are sensing is the spirit of God emanating throughout the world at this time of year.

Jesus’ name is mentioned and spoken more of than any other time of year.  Giving is demonstrated more than any other time of year.   God is the biggest giver ever.  He gave His only begotten son for us to be saved and have a relationship with Him again.  John 3:16 says, “For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.”

When you give, you love.  God is the biggest lover you will every have.  His essence is love, He is love.  John 15:13 says greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends.  Ye are my friends.  This is exactly what Jesus did for us, He laid his life down for us to be redeemed from the curse of sin.

We tend to reminisce this time of year on the goodness we have in our life.  God is good, He’s all good.  Matthew 19:17 says there is none good but one, that is God.  It also says the same scripture in Mark 10:18. When something is repeated multiple times it is of true importance.

Family’s make an extra effort gathering together, traveling from afar to spend time together more than any other time of year.  We are God’s family.  He created us to be his family.

He gave his son to return us back into the family.  Why?  Because He loved us so much.  He gave, because He is good.  He is our abba Father, our family.

So, this Christmas season, see more deeply who our father is and commune with him and his spirit, soak in His presence.  Allow him in an extraordinary way this Christmas for other people to experience him through you.   It may be a smile or a hug or getting someone a special gift that someone couldn’t afford.  Even taking leftover food from a party to the homeless man on the street.  Be his hands and feet, follow the leading of the Holy Spirit.  Truly be in the spirit. Demonstration of His love to the fullest, then the Holy Spirit will minister to those who you have in contact with.

Bill and I wish our CBC family all the best blessings, favor bestowed upon you, your family and your business.

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!
