What really is God’s shield?  Every morning in prayer I put on God’s armor in Ephesians 6:11-17. In verse 16 it mentions, above all taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked. What does that mean? Attacks from the enemy.

God is allowing us to use His armor against the devil because we cannot withstand it on our own. In Psalm 3:3 But Thou oh Lord are a shield for me; my glory, and the lifter up of mine head. Psalm 5:12-for thou, Lord will bless the righteous; with the favor wilt thou compass him as with a shield.

So let’s break it down and simplify it. What does a shield do in the natural? It protects, covers, protection against blows and missiles. Noun, a person that provides protection. So having God as your shield is full protection. So when you pray, don’t underestimate God‘s shield of His personal protection in your life. Visualize God, abba Father protecting you as His child. Especially in these times of spiritual warfare, protect yourself with what God has given us. His armor and specifically His shield of faith.
